the origin story
716knit started in the basement of a house on an island after a new knitter was frustrated with the lack of brightly colored wool yarns available to her. Dyer Jenna decided to combine all aspects of her life to create 716knit.
Straight Edge. Knitting. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Punk. Lisa Frank.
This random assortment of diverse passions created the color palette and most of the color way names you see today.
As 716knit grew and expanded beyond the Buffalo region, Jenna decided to take her yarns dream on step further... she, with the help of a large network of amazing knitters and friends, built and opened Knit Buffalo: New York's first yarn truck. You can catch Jenna and 716knit yarns in the yarn truck throughout Wester New York during the non-blizzard months.
